Introducing our final Breaking Boundaries story teller Coach Gari! Gari Mcintyre born in Baltimore City, MD raised by a single mother and influenced by several mentors including her youth step coach and dance coach. She educated through Baltimore public school systems and graduated from Coppin state University with a B.S. In History. She is Currently serving as the step coach to Lethal Ladies of The Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women which was recently featured in step. She has over 10 years experience in stepping. Coach G’s step classes allows people to become empowered though movement while also investing in self esteem, disciple and solidarity. Her mission is impact the lives of the youth worldwide.
Introducing Breaking Boundaires story teller Nick Kovacic! Nick is a founding partner of Digital Cave and the driving force behind both Brewmore Baltimore and decanted feature-length documentaries. Brewmore has gone on to win an EMMY for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary. He works and collaborates with a diverse group of filmmakers exploring new mediums that are redefining visual storytelling. He is currently finishing up a third documentary that explores Mexican culture through the lens of the Agave spirits tequila and mezcal.
Introducing another one of our amazing story tellers for this year’s Breaking Boundaries! Theresa Sheils, a Principal in Gensler’s Washington, DC office, excels at managing large project and consultant teams, as well as, leading clients with multiple stakeholders involved in the process. She has worked on some of the South East region’s most complex architecture and interior design projects. She excels at delivering major projects, acting as the principal-in-charge on some of the largest real estate projects in the D.C. metro area and global projects, leading clients with multiple stakeholders. Some of her recent projects include Duke Kunshan University (China), 99 M Street, Westfield Montgomery, Tysons Central, Marriott Headquarters and Capital One Headquarters in McLean. Theresa led the team for the Tysons Tower project, which fills a void for high-end, high-performance commercial office space in the tech and business corridor of Tysons, VA. Tysons Tower earned various design awards from the AIA, the NAIOP Award of Excellence, and Washington Business Journal’s “Best New Office Development”. A proponent of sustainable design, Theresa works with her clients and team members to develop high-performance design solutions that use leading technology to reduce energy use and mitigate negative effects on the environment. A registered architect and LEED®-Accredited Professional, she graduated from Catholic University of America with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. She is a member of the American Institute of Architecture, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and ULI.
Introducing Breaking Boundaries story teller number 2! Educated as an architect at Virginia Tech and Auburn University’s Rural Studio, Will Holman is the founding Executive Director of Open Works, a makerspace in Baltimore City. Open Works is one of the largest nonprofit makerspaces in the United States, with 7 workshops, two classrooms, a computer lab, a mobile makerspace, 140 studio spaces, and a coffee shop. Previous to that, he worked as an archtectural designer, carpenter, artist’s assistant, cabinetmaker, furniture designer, and educator. Introducing one of the story teller’s featured at this year’s Breaking Boundaries! Sarah Fraser is the host of the popular Hey Frase podcast on Spotify and iTunes.
